Active, together. Local Sport and Physical Activity Plan 2024 -2029

The final output was a 5 year plan focusing on increasing participation in sport and physical activities across the Council.

The plan will inform the Council’s role in planning, provision, operation and oversight of leisure provision infrastructure and the ongoing support of sports clubs, voluntary communities and key stakeholders who work together to promote active, inclusive communities.

The plan includes 6 commitments with relevant actions to improve opportunities for residents to pursue more active lifestyles within the Council.

S3 Solutions worked with the Leisure Department within the Council to facilitate a significant consultative and engagement process that comprised of 23 interviews with key local authority stakeholders and external partners, 6 thematic workshops with stakeholders delivering on sport and physical activity, an online survey generating 1364 responses and 6 strategic planning workshops.
