S3 Solutions was contracted by Longford County Council to complete a Town Centre First plan for Longford Town. The aim of the plan was to deliver a strategy and proposals for the future development of the town. The plan sets out a pathway for the revival and rejuvenation of the economic, environmental and social fabric of the town through targeted, town centre focused initiatives aimed at stimulating private sector investment and driving forward public realm initiatives. Working with design partners Park Hood Ltd, S3 Solutions completed the following:

• Detailed baseline review of the built environment within the town area, including key points of interest, heritage landmarks and tourism assets. 3 walkabouts and two engagements with key Council officials were completed by the consultant team to support this review.

• Detailed baseline review and statistical profile of the town using all available government and local authority sources

• Comprehensive multi stakeholder consultation process which included the facilitation of two public consultation events that hosted 145 people representing residents, businesses and other stakeholder and support organisations within the town, 110 resident responses to an online survey seeking opinion on initial proposals, and 6 regular engagements with the Longford Town Team representatives.

• Development of key concept designs and project ideas to support consultation and facilitation throughout the master planning process

• The development of an implementation plan to take forward the priority capital and revenue projects outlined within the overall vision and framework of the plan to include specific roles and responsibilities for the town team to consider on a short to medium term basis.
