Town Centre Plan for Strokestown
S3 Solutions was contracted by Roscommon County Council to complete a Town Centre First plan for Strokestown, Co. Roscommon. The aim of the plan was to undertake a robust review and planning process, working with key community, business, government and local authority stakeholders to develop a 2040 vision for the town, focussing on transformational capital projects.
Working with design partners BDP, S3 Solutions completed the following:

Detailed baseline review of the built environment within the town area, including key points of interest, heritage landmarks and tourism assets. 4 walkabouts were completed by the consultant team to support this review. Key landmarks and assets that were considered as part of this process were the National Famine Way, Strokestown Park House and the County Roscommon Heritage and Genealogy Centre

Detailed baseline review and statistical profile of the town using all available government and local authority sources

Comprehensive multi stakeholder consultation process which generated contributions from 415 individuals in total. This included resident input via online surveys and discussions at the local agricultural show, business and community workshops and interviews and facilitated engagements with the Strokestown Town Team

Development of key concept designs and project ideas to support consultation and facilitation throughout the master planning process

Facilitation of a series of visioning and project development sessions with Roscommon County council officers and the Strokestown Town Team

The development of an implementation plan to take forward the priority capital projects outlined within the overall vision and framework of the Strokestown TCF plan
